Father, you are greater than anyone or anything in all the universe. For you created all that is, all that was, and all that is to come. There is no one like you. From everlasting to everlasting, you are God. Thank you for sending Jesus to us. Not only to save us from our sins by the sacrifice of his life on the cross, but to show us what could be done through a completely human life fully surrendered to you and your will. Being fully human, he lived his life, not as God, but as a man. He did not live his life as God, depending on his divinity. Instead, he lived his life solely as a human being. All the things he did, he did as a man filled with your Spirit. He showed us what you are like by being completely human and completely surrendering to you and your will. All the things he did, we are also able to do as we completely surrender ourselves to you and your will, filled with your Spirit. Just as he turned the water into wine, saving the host of the wedding from embarrassment, so we are able, filled with your Spirit, to provide supernaturally for the good of others. Just as he raised Lazarus from the dead, so we are able, filled with your Spirit, to raise people from the dead. For he relied on your Spirit to accomplish the impossible. Just as he healed the sick, the lame, the demon possessed, so we are able, filled with your Spirit to heal the sick, the lame, the demon possessed. In fact, his disciples, after his death, did many of these things. They were filled with your Spirit and your power and showed the world your power through these things. We are also able, filled with your Spirit, to speak boldly the word of truth to our sick and dying, dark and empty world. We can tell them the good news that Jesus died for them also and was raised from the dead so that they too, might have eternal life. Just as Jesus did as a man completely surrendered to you and your Spirit. Why do we hesitate to offer life to the world? Why do we hesitate to walk as Jesus did? Help us to completely surrender ourselves to you and your will so that the world may see and know you through us. All the things that Jesus did as a man are possible for us as we completely surrender to your will and your Spirit who lives inside of us. We need not be afraid to do what Jesus did, for you are with us. Your power is inside of us. Your goodness surrounds and fills us. Your desire to show yourself to the world is as strong today as when Jesus walked this earth. Fill us with your Spirit, Father, and make us like Jesus. This is our prayer. Amen.
