Father, you are greater than anyone or anything in all the universe. For you created all that is, all that was, and all that is to come. There is no one like you. From everlasting to everlasting, you are God. Your ways never change. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Your goodness will never change. Your kindness will never change. Your love for all mankind will never change. We are the ones who are fickle and changing. There is great comfort and peace in the knowledge that you never change in the essence of who you are. The faith and love of Jesus never wavered, just like you. Because he believed you, we now belong to you. It is his faith and love that saves us. If it were up to our faith and love, we would be without hope. But because of the unwavering faith of Jesus, we were rescued from our rebellion against you. Because of his unwavering faith in your goodness, he went to certain death on a cross, confident that what you asked him to do would be for the good of all mankind. And he believed that you could raise him from the dead. We could never do such a thing, for we are a fickle and wandering lot. But you are not. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. You believed that Jesus would have faith in you – unwavering faith. You believed that he shared in your great love for the world. And so, you demonstrated that you are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Just as you promised Abraham thousands of years ago that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand in the sea, so you are bringing it to pass. All of us who believe you are Abraham’s descendants. You are faithful to keep your covenants – yesterday, today, and forever. Blessed be your name! Amen.
