Father, you are greater than anyone or anything in all the universe. For you created all that is, all that was, and all that is to come. There is no one like you. From everlasting to everlasting, you are God. You do not treat us as our sins deserve. I know that I am in desperate need of you and your forgiveness. Until I acknowledged that and turned my life over to you, I was without hope. I am still in desperate need of you. For my flesh wars against the Spirit you have placed within me. Unless I am empowered by your Spirit to follow you and your ways, to be obedient to you, I cannot live the life that you want me to live. Without the power of your Holy Spirit, the flesh will win. However, you do give me power through your Holy Spirit to put to death the deeds of the flesh. You give me hope. You give me grace, mercy and love through your son Jesus Christ. In Him I find that you have placed me in the hollow of your hand and I am secure in you. Nothing can separate me from your love. Neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord. You are my rock and my fortress. You are my provider. Without you I am nothing. Yet, with your Holy Spirit whom you placed within me, I am your precious son in whom you are well pleased. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. You made me to do good works that you prepared for me to do from before the foundation of the world. You help me to love others like you love me. This is what you made me for. Father, fill me to overflowing with your Holy Spirit so that I am able to love others well. To love them deeply and from my heart, that new heart that you placed within me when you saved me. May others see not me, but Jesus when they encounter me this day. May I be a light to those who are perishing and an encouragement to those who are yours. May my life impart life to all those whom my life touches today. May they see Jesus and be drawn to him. Allow me to get out of the way and let your Spirit shine through so that all whom my life touches today be refreshed by you. This is my prayer. Amen.
