Not “Me” but “We”

Father, may we spend this day together, you and I?  May this day be a “we” proposition, not an “I” endeavor.  I want to listen to your Spirit and walk with you and you with me.  I do not want to do anything of my own accord, but all according to your will.  I know that I am not alone, that you are always with me, your Spirit indwelling in me.  Yet I want to live this day keenly aware of your presence and in tune with your Spirit.  What shall we do together today, Father?  What would your good will be?  I do not know.  Please reveal it to me this morning and throughout the day.  I want to be and say and do what you desire, Father.  May I be so full of your Spirit today that I am Jesus to those around me, to all whom my life touches today.  May I walk away from sin, empowered by your Spirit to do good, not evil.  Help me to crush the flesh that is so intent on having my own way.  May I say to the evil one who would lead me astray, “and God said….”  Help me as I put on the full armor of God.  Ready to do battle with my flesh and the evil one and his minions.  Your Spirit is strong in me.  I know I am able and ready for anything that comes my way today, not because of my own strength, but because of yours, because of the power of your Spirit living in me.  May I walk this day so full of your Spirit, that others are blessed by you through me every moment of this day.  May I be your good son, surrendered to your will, serving others for their good.  This is my prayer.  Amen.
