Father, you are greater than anyone or anything in all the universe. For you created all that is, all that was, and all that is to come. There is no one like you. From everlasting to everlasting, you are God. Your name is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isa. 9:6) You foretold that Galilee would be the honored place where your son would grow up, that he would bring a great light to your people who were walking in darkness. This is just like you. You take the backwards and forgotten things of this world and turn them into something of honor. You took me, a young boy from San Diego, who was not seen, and you made me a poet and an author. That young boy would never have dreamed that this could be so. Yet you did it. You took me from obscurity and brokenness and made something wonderful of my life. Along the way, the enemy persistently tried to drag me away from you, but you would not allow it. You rescued me from much false teaching and sinful living and made me into the man I am today. You set my feet on a solid rock, a safe place, your hand. No one can snatch me out of your hand, for I belong to you. I don’t know what you are going to do with this book, but I know that it will bless many people. It already has. I pray that it will bless many more people, more than I can count. You can do this. I cannot. I am only your vessel, the means through which you can bless others. Thank you for what you have done with me. You took a small boy, grew him into a man, and used his creative gifts, gifts you gave him, and the inspiration of your Spirit, to create poetry that speaks of you and yours. For this I am eternally grateful. Amen.
